Humantay Hike
The Humantay one day hike is a wonderfull experience since the trail is spectacular with incredible views of the Vilcabamba range with two beatiful glaciers. The Salkantay and Humantay snow peaks as wel the lagoon with turquoises waters and abudant flora in the scrush bush vegetation and grasa land ecosystem and birdfauna.
We will begin our day from Cusco at 4,30am .we will drive 3.30 minutes to the beginning of the trail in soraypamapa at 3900mts.from there you will have two hours hike to the lake (4200) where you will see crystals water and turquoise colors in the lake once you arrive. We will cross Interandean Valleys and go up through a beautiful trail along the Humantay River on dirt and gravel conditions with the views of the Salcantay peak, Humantay peak and the moraine. Through altitudes, landscapes and ecosystems from Alpine to grass land and Andean semidry forest Backcountry hiking, visiting isolated farmers villages and quechua speaking peoples as well this beautiful glacier and lake is one of the most mistical places in Cusco are to visit, While walking this trail we have the chance to see wildlife in the scrub bush vegetation and grassland ecosystems with some bushes like Chillca(bacharis peruviana)Ichu grass(stipa ichu).As well if the time is right the Andean Condor(vulture gryphus) and the black chested buzzard eagle(geranoaetus melanoleucus)..
After a light picnic lunch we will return to Cusco city by 7pm
